Dry Fruits, Nuts, Seeds And Berries

Almonds

One of the first nuts and dried fruits in which Amama Foods had a keen interest. In the neighbourhood Mandi at APMC, we first started exchanging almond kernels and almonds that were still in their shells in 2015. Following the margin, we then transitioned to direct imports from Californian, American, and Australian farmers. capturing a sizable portion of the import market in the first year while studying the ins and outs of inshell almond processing from a number of Job Work partners in Mumbai. We were able to process 50 MT of in-shell almonds per day in 2017 because to our product expertise, our capacity to build up our own processing plant, and control over both local and international procurement and distribution. We are currently the chosen supplier of several contemporary retail establishments in India, including Reliance Retail, Dmart, More Retail, and Metro Cash & Carry, thanks to this knowledge and our emphasis on producing high-quality items. Almonds were one of the first products we offered under our own brand, Amama Foods. With our current product expertise, we are able to supply a variety of clients, including wholesale traders, retail customers, modern retail white labels, packers, and processors, with their almond demands. Additionally, we may offer almonds whole, salted, blanched, sliced/diced, powdered, and in a number of other formats. Additionally, there is still much to be done, such as turning almond waste into bio briquettes and almond oil.

Pistachios

We have been able to establish a solid procurement foundation in the pistachio industry using our expansive network of domestic and international suppliers, which includes both Californian and Iranian origin pistachios. Being a member of the American Pistachio Growers Association has given us access to the best growers and suppliers of pistachios in the USA, enabling us to source directly from them and playing a crucial role in the expansion of sales and the pistachio industry in India. Furthermore, in order to satisfy the preferences of Indian consumers, we have built the internal capacity to process and flavour 3000 kg of pistachios every day. We have been able to distribute the products to a variety of market needs, from bakers as ingredients to final retail consumers for consumption, thanks to our capacity to source and deliver in-shell pistachios, flavor-infused in-shell pistachios, and pistachio kernels of various sizes.

Cashews

We at Amama Foods were prepared to capitalise on a big and diverse nuts industry, of which cashew nuts constitute a significant portion, given that India is one of the leading producers, processors, and consumers of cashews in the world. Our ability to get both raw and processed cashews from large Indian suppliers and processors has allowed us to concentrate on the cashew-centric regions of south India, such as Mangalore. Additionally, we have built up a strong network of job-style processors to handle both our domestically grown raw cashew nuts and our imported RCN from Africa. With the help of these partnerships with import and domestic RCN suppliers, a network of job-work processors, and Large Scale Cashew Kernel Suppliers, we have built a sizable supply network that can fulfil the high demand of the packaged nuts market in both the wholesale and retail sectors. This has allowed us to create a monthly supply capability of well over 50MT of cashew kernels across the quality range, meeting the needs of both confectioners and retailers.

Walnuts

In order to import walnuts (in-shell and kernel) from a variety of vendors in Chile and California, USA, Amama Foods has established a strong supplier network. With an average monthly import capacity of 3-5 FCL, we are able to maintain a steady supply of walnuts throughout the year thanks to this sourcing capabilities. Additionally, we have created the ability to manually break and sort 3-5MT of in-shell walnut every day in-house.

Raisins

At Amama Foods we have developed a diverse Raisin portfolio – covering Indian and Afghani raisins of all shapes, sizes, colours and variants from choicest suppliers. A capability to source and distribute over 20Mt a month of Sangli, India origin Golden sun-dried raisins, and an ability to source over 30 Mt of Afghani black raisins sun-dried seedless and with seed. These raisins are sorted by hand as well as automated visual sorting machines to ensure the most select raisins are supplied to final consumers

Dates

Dates have the ability to increase the production of insulin and also have several properties that can help reduce the rate of absorption of glucose from the intestine. This can help a lot in reducing the risk that is posed by diabetes. The reduction of glucose absorption will inevitably reduce blood glucose levels that are beneficial for people suffering from diabetes. The exact procedure of how dates help in reducing the effects of diabetes is still being researched upon.

Pista

Nuts are one of the foods that promote weight loss the greatest, despite being an energy-dense food. The few research that do exist on the benefits of pistachios on weight are encouraging. Protein and fibre in pistachios both contribute to feelings of satiety and encourage you to eat less. In a 12-week weight loss programme, participants who consumed 1.9 ounces (53 grammes) of pistachios as an afternoon snack had twice the body mass index reduction of those who consumed 2 ounces (56 grammes) of pretzels daily. In addition, a 24-week trial of overweight people found that those who got 20% of their calories from pistachios lost 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) more off their waistlines than those who didn’t.

Other Dry Fruits, Nuts, Seeds & Berries

The selection of nuts and seeds is growing as we expand our local and international distribution networks. Among the many items in this steadily growing portfolio are:

1. High-fat nuts, such macadamia, brazil, and hazelnuts
2. fruit that are both sweet and tart, like cranberries and blueberries
3. Superfoods and seeds including quinoa, flaxseeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds.
4. Dried Fruits, such as Kiwi, Pineapple, and others, which are added to our product portfolio’s natural candied department.

Spices

Like other things, spices have a limited shelf life and will eventually go bad. Depending on how the spices are handled, the shelf life can vary.

The chemical molecules (also known as essential oils) that give spices their tastes and fragrances are broken down by heat, humidity, air, and sunlight. The strength of the flavors decreases as a result of the chemical breakdown. Some spices can develop rancid, mouldy, musty, or unclean smells and odours; at this time, the spices ought to be thrown away.

The Spices Basket was a logical next step for us because of our extensive souring and distribution network and our location in the world’s capital of spices. At Amama Food, this quickly expanding portfolio is currently divided into the following groups:

1. CLOVE, CUMIN, AND OTHER AROMATIC SPICES
2. BLACK AND WHITE PEPPERS, HOT SPICES
3. MILD SPICES: TURMERIC, CORIANDERS this category,

we are working to provide items from the best suppliers directly to consumers through our own Amama Foods Brand.
